Golf in Oman

Golf in Oman is still relatively 'new', but if you are looking for a relaxing, uncomplicated few days of winter sun, you could do worse than take the short flight from the UK and see what Oman has to offer.

There are currently three recommended 18 hole golf courses to try, Al Mouj Golf, Ghala Golf Club and Ras al Hamra.

Al Mouj
Located in Muscat and along a 6km stretch of beach, this Greg Norman, links style course offers both the amateur and professional a challenging round of golf. This course is next to the new Kempinski Muscat hotel is probably the closest and best to UK standards.

Ghala Golf Club
This 18 hold course build into a natural Wadi and flanked by the Hajar Mountain is on the oldest courses in Oman. The fairways are narrow and the greens challenging. The club also benefits from a driving range, putting green and licensed Club House. Golfers are able to walk this course, golf trolleys are provided free of charge.

Ras al Hamra
A 9 hole golf course managed by Troon. It is the only night golf course in Muscat so players can also enjoy a 9 hole night experience.


Muscat Hills Golf and Country Club
This is the oldest 18 hole golf course in Oman. Not a golf course we would recommend at the moment as houses are being built around and on some of the fairways.
