Nungwi Reefs

The Nungwi Reefs are located off the North coast of Zanzibar. The dive sites wrap themselves around the tip of the island and include the following:

Shanes Reef
Chakatuni
Coral Garden
Turtle Gap
Haji
Kichafi
Misoli
Leons Wall
Leven Bank

The reefs offer opportunities for both beginners and the more experienced diver. The reefs at Chakatuni, Coral Garden and Misoli are deemed suitable for beginners and offer long stretches of beautiful coral, a wide variety of reef fish, and if you are lucky, green turtles.

Leons Wall is reserved for the more experienced diver, as is Leven Bank, which, being further out into the ocean also gives you the opportunity to see some of the bigger game fish such as Tuna or Sailfish. An advance open water certificate is required for this dive site.
