North West

The North West coast offers a similar number of dive sites as the other coasts.

A couple of reefs that are easily accessible from the beach are the Kendwa Reef and the Renco Reef. The Kendwa Reef and Kendwa Gardens have a number of dive sites along a long and shallow reef, suitable for both beginners and the more experienced divers. The Renco reef is a coral garden that includes the rare Staghorn Coral and is also a popular site for night dives.

Tumbatu Island
A 30 minute boat ride from Nungwi is the island of Tumbatu, the 3rd largest island in the Zanzibar archipelago. The island is only 5 miles in length and is completely surrounded by a shallow reef. This makes it an ideal spot for both snorkelling and diving. Dive sites include Mwana Wa Mwana and Ras Misikitini, also the Hunga Reefs and Nankivelle Rock.
