Really helpful and personalised service received from Clare who helped us to choose a resort suitable for our requirements and budget.

Amazing holiday, fantastic resort with lovely staff who made us feel really welcome. Out of this world snorkelling. When can I go back?!

Anantara Kihavah has a great 'hard product' - the island itself is beautiful, villa was superb, all restaurant/ bar areas etc. beautifully maintained. Slightly dodgy/ 'blingy' choices in some areas (e.g. the 'luxury boutique' which felt like a mini-Bond Street and contained zero interesting/local souvenir items, only expensive international fashion brands). I didn't find the service very warm and it rather lacked the personal touch. Anantara is a huge chain and unfortunately, the resort felt a bit 'chainy'. Obviously we were there at an especially busy time (Easter) but it did feel very busy and full, and is obviously a very family-oriented resort. Dining offered plenty of choice and was mostly great - however breakfast was a bit of a let-down in comparison with other Maldives resorts/ comparable resorts in e.g. Mauritius, Seychelles etc. Half Board plan wasn't great - supplementary charges for so many menu items and only $50 per person allowance for non-HB dining (compared with at least $100-200 I believe typical at other comparable resorts) - meant that ultimately it wasn't as good value for money as it appeared to be. We had a lovely holiday with plenty of relaxation in our beautiful villa, loads of sun, and some good snorkelling at the house reef - but would not choose to go back to this resort again.

We had a wonderful holiday at Finolhu. We booked Premium All Inclusive and it was definitely the right decision. We were able to dine anywhere on resort and the food was incredible. The whole team at Finolhu cannot do enough for you ..... our holiday in every way was just perfect.

On arrival the meet and greet was good. Disappointed with Manta Air as the flight was delayed for 1 hour with very little update and I had to try and get information from them about departure, not very good for a 35-minute flight. Reethi beach check in room allocation was disappointing as after Angelfish stated room preferences in a block of room numbers and I personally contacted Reethi beach via email, they allocated a room initially nowhere near the requested area. I realise that room requests are not guaranteed though when given months of notice, you would think they could find a room within a block of 7 rooms. We did get a move to a room within our requested range 3 days after arrival, so this was much better. Having been to Reethi Beach twice before, we were happy with the overall experience and had a lovely holiday. The island will be undergoing a makeover under the new management and although we do like a more rustic island, we feel that the makeover is needed as the accommodation and some of the public areas are looking very tired. We do feel however that the island entertainment needs to be overhauled and while we do not go to the Maldives for a party experience, having presentations from the spa and the dive centre as the only entertainment for 2 of the nights per week is not acceptable in our opinion as these should be presentations made as part of an evening, not the whole evening entertainment. Generally, the staff on Reethi Beach are what makes this island worth going to with a few of them going well beyond expectations to make you happy. We did have a couple of complaints about the food in the Moodhu Bar and the day after, the head chef, Farish came to see us and listened to our issue. After that evening, he was on hand and went out of his way to ensure we were happy. I am sure that he told the catering/waiting staff to ensure we were satisfied with our food and the Reethi Grill ala-carte restaurant food was to a very high standard which was the main restaurant that Farish was working. We took the time to have a look at the food available in the main restaurant and I would say that the lunchtime menu was adequate with a limited choice and the evening was OK though nothing special. We are glad we paid to upgrade to the all-inclusive premium package. Regarding the included excursions for premium, the choice could be widened and more flexible. One of the excursions is a “Sunset Cruise” which is a boat trip with no refreshments provided and quite boring. The other is a “local island” visit, which we have already been on both. I also find it a bit bad service to tell guests that if the weather disrupts the excursion or whatever other external reason, beyond Reethi Beach control there will be no replacement or allowed re-booking. Once again this whole holiday booking experience has been a joy and the knowledge and attention to detail from the Angelfish staff has been outstanding. We come back time after time to Angelfish due to the advice, understanding of our requirements and the fact that you are confident that you can rely on them to find you a great choice of Maldives holiday options and execute the booking with flawless professionalism.

The sheer number of people who return multiple times to Komandoo speaks volumes. It’s a beautiful laid back island with amazing staff which remains affordable. Didn’t want to leave.

As experienced snorkellers the house reef was the best we have seen in 8 trips to the Maldives. There was a strong current limiting access to certain parts. No information provided by resort or dive centre (we were actually giving guidance to other guests).

The only negative about the resort was that the water villa sunbeds could not be adjusted so it was difficult to lay flat. The beach villa sunbeds were a different design.

The buffet food was good for us. Others commented on limited choice but this was a very small island.
