At the heart of Banyan Tree Vabbinfaru is the spa. Enclosed in a tranquil hideaway with incense and music in the air, the expert Thai masseuses are ready to work wonders on you. Each therapist undergoes 420 hours of training in Banyan Tree's Spa Academy in Thailand and India. You may have difficulty in choosing from the extensive list of massages and body treatments on offer!

In keeping with tranquility of the spa, every entertainment is of a quiet nature. There is no disco, karaoke or late night drinking. Instead, the large open-sided bar overlooking the lagoon offers a satellite TV room and a screeen for movies; mostly underwater films. The gift shop attached is one of the best stocked of any of the resorts. There is also a small library available.

This sand is spread all over the floor of all the public areas and paths that wind though the island, giving a smart but casual feel.

The island also offers wedding facilities. Given that Banyan Tree is a small island, the on-land sports are limited but adequate. Volleyball, table tennis, snooker and badminton are available. There is also a gym.

The resort benefits from a house reef and the next door island (Angsana Resort and Spa) also has a fine house reef for snorkelling and diving.
